Who Here Takes Vitamin D? How Much Is Your Dosage? Has It Helped You? Made Anything, Blood Counts Worse, Etc.? .

Tx

I started on 1,000mg.
But this next refill is for 5,000mg.
Then wondering if 10,000mg like I read on here by a member who takes every other day would really help me.

Originally, my Chinese Med Dr suggested to do 10,000mg but I wanted to start low and get higher for fear of headaches, it not working right, etc.

I take Vit D supplements due to a measured Vit D deficiency, which is related to another condition, Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Long-term use of Nexium for GERD likely does not help. My dosing is based on measure response to the supplement. My current dose is 100mcg/4000IU qd. Note that Vit D is usually measure in either mcg or IU.

I also take Vit B and Magnesium supplements due to measured deficiencies with dose adjustment based on measured response. I am a strong believer in using objective measures whenever possible with any intervention we use.

I take vitamin D3 but not in connection with my ET condition. I use it because my internist recommends it for strong bones. I let the internist and hematologist know about any supplements I take, to avoid possible interactions with ET meds, but they usually lack info about supplements.
