On The Recommendation Of My Cardiologist, I Stopped Taking The Jakafi, Cold Turkey, Because I Have Been Experiencing Shortness Of Breath.
The doctors cannot find any reason for it. Since I stopped the Jakafi, I developed incessant itching all over my upper torso. My PC dr gave me a shot of prednisone and put me on a seven day prednisone pill pack. This hasn't even touched the itching. I have tried Benadryl 3 times a day and Zyrtex twice a day upon her recommendation but to no avail. Anemia is, in my understanding, a common issue with Jakafi. There are drugs like Danazol that can help increase red cell production. It would be worth discussing alternatives with your doctor.
