I Have Pulsatile Tinnitus And ET.
I am told these 2 things are likely unrelated. Have other people experienced this and what was the outcome?
I am waiting for an MRI to assess the pulsatile tinnitus.
I have had that on and off over the years. It started when I got diagnosed with ET 15 years ago. Iβm pretty sure they are related.
I am aware of the condition description and that it can be a serious concern (per my doctor). In Canada, health testing and surgeries are very delayed at this point and I just have to wait. I do take aspirin daily and hydrea is keeping my platelets in check so I just keep hoping to get the call for the MRI. I asked the question in case anyone had pulsatile tinnitus and had it investigated. I suppose it's not very useful as there may be many causes for the condition - I just need to get the info that the MRI will provide. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Pulsatile Tinnitus is caused by a change in your blood flow. It's name is derived from the fact that you experience the sound in time with your pulse. There are apparently several causes for the disorder, one of which could be an obstruction in a vein or artery. If you're waiting for an MRI, your doctor must not be very concerned. If it were me, I'd take some aspirin to keep your platelets from sticking together, and suggest that you may need a blood thinner like Plavix/Clopidogrel. Here's a link to an article from the Cleveland Clinic that explains it better: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/....
I have not heard this before but one never knows. Anything is possible

I Have Continuous Ringing In Ear And My Doc Says It's Nothing To Do With MPN. But I Think It Is Because Of Low Blood Flow In Head.
