I was diagnosed with ET in 2001, at age 51, and until the past few years everything was pretty stable. It has always been my understanding that we have a normal life expectancy, so follow your treatment regimen and try not to worry. I now have PV and so it seems phlebotomies are in my future, but it is not leukemia nor myelofobrosis, so I consider myself fortunate.

The same it was before your diagnosis for ET. ET will not kill you but you will die with it.
