That sounds odd, quite honestly, in that just with our MPN’s we are in the high risk category.

I have never heard that “no treatment” for Covid is optimal or even recommended for us.

Actually I just finished a course on Lagevrio a few weeks ago. Dr prescribed it because Pax Lovid has a greater track record of drug interactions. I felt the Lagevrio helped me. Feel better Kathy!

Lagevrio is not approved in Canada as I believed Merck pulled the application. However, it may still be available through SAP also known as the Special Access Program. It likely involves paperwork hence physicians may not like prescribing it.

MH, I'm in the States and they definitely believe in treating us for covid! Covid is a beast, I've had it twice this year. The first time I was so sick and I developed Covid pneumonia, congestive heart failure, and Afib. I was transported by ambulance to another hospital and they would not let my husband take me because Afib is bad. Didn't know covid would cause all that but my Dr's in hospital said they see it all the time. Then I had covid again this year 2 weeks after my kidney surgery and was given those pills you take to help get over it faster and they did help because I was really sick buy not as sick as the other time, those pills did help. I'm so afraid of getting covid again. I catch it pretty easily!

Spoke to a GP and two hematologists. All three said that should I get Covid additional Covid treatments such as Paxlovid not necessary. I took Paxlovid at least twice pre-MPN diagnosis. However, recently my GP did a 360 and stated that the improvements were marginal.
Keep in mind this is from doctors part of the Canadian medical system which may be behind other countries.
