Is There A Link Between Hydroxyurea And High Liver Enzymes? I've Been On Hydroxyurea For 4 Years With Good Results Untill Recently.

Hi Ann, would you mind my asking what dosage of Hydrea you have been on for such a long period of time? I take 2 capsules/day and always worry how high a dose this really is and how safe it is over the long run.

Ann, did you mean to say 1000 mg/day? I take 2 tablets of 500 mg each day or 1000 mg/day so it seems like I am taking a much higher dose than you are.

I take 100mg a day but everyone is different so it can vary with people.

Ive been on hydrea about 30 years,i was 29 when my platelets were rising b.at 32 i was put on hydrea and now i am 61 and my liver enzymes are a little raised.
