Just be careful. I had an iron infusion when I had my knee replacement. Doc gave me 400 cc IV and I had a horrible and painful reaction….extremities swelled up so much nurses had to cut bandages off my leg because swelling was causing blood to stop flowing in my leg!

I have PV with JAK2. Include high iron foods in your diet. There are supplements you can try. I could not tolerate iron tablets.

Is important to determine the type of anemia or iron deficiency you have. I meet with my oncologist/hematologist in a couple weeks after some fancy bloodwork! I did talk with him on the phone and he mentioned an injection…..we shall see!

My Dr., an MPN specialist, is now suggesting iron infusions...
Has anyone done this? I have serious concerns about having this done.
