Thank you for your answers! Unfortunately, I have not gotten into an MPN specialist yet. My numbers are in the millions so we have all been brain storming ways to get them down quickly. I was hoping since I have so many it would bless someone else! I definitely would not want to bring harm.

I was told that we cannot donate any organs or blood with our MPNs. I also was told that they do not do platelet pheresis because the body will work to replace them and possibly raise our platelet levels even more than they were. I am only stating what I have been told, and I am not even close to being knowledgeable about this, just what I have learned.

Dear Patty2,

You cannot give the gene mutation causing your MPN via blood donations.
If you were to donate bone marrow, that would be a different story, but you would be thoroughly screened before, so that would not happen anyway.
You are very thoughtful about other people's safety. That matters.

Hugs,
Tatiana

I asked if I could donate anything, even after a transplant and was told NO.

I was also told absolutely not.
