Hi Pat. Many people suggest the blood thinner Eliquis as an alternative to baby aspirin if there's a bleeding issue. Have you asked your doctors about Eliquis? Luckily for me, my excess platelets from ET have been brought down by medication and I could stop baby aspirin without worries, as it made my stomach ache.

I’m 80 and have diverticulitis in the colon..it doesn’t bother me..but after 3 mo of baby aspirin, I had a significant hemorrhage.. as the cute ER doc said “ out the back door” lol..I then stopped the aspirin…then after three mo..started again 4 a week…now I’m bleeding a bit..so need to go off …and then maybe go to two a week.

When people say they have bleeding, where does bleeding mainly occur. Just curious cause I see it's a big issue. And how do you know if you have hidden bleeding.

I was taking 2 baby aspirins a day when PV was detected. This caused acidity and I was observing bleeding nerves on my skin on hands , back. Then doctor made me stop all those and now I take only one for my PV
