What Is Best Medicare Supplement Plan For MF ? Will Be Going On Medicare In Jan; Advantage Plan Vs Other
I can’t say anything negative about Aetna’s Medicare Advantage policies which I have had for several years and am very happy with. I have Part D combined with it and if they do refuse to cover a new prescription, very seldom, my physicians have gotten it approved very quickly. If an MPN drug is not covered, my oncologist claims it will not be something to worry about, because their financial department works with other resources when we can’t afford it. This is in the US, of course.
I have Medicare Advantage with Aetna. Copays for my specialists are low, labs are covered and I can see any physician who takes my insurance,
I just got a prescription for Jakafi. it started at $8,000/mo. Then down to $330/ Mo. The farmacy went to some other financing and now it is $0/mo.
I'm not on Jakafi, but I did look up the price for my Part D regular Medicare, it was quite expensive. But, for 2025, the out of pocket limit for all drug spending is $2000. Also, my doc said they can often get a break on drugs like Jakafi from the maker. Best of luck!
And speaking just for prescriptions, there is often funding available, coupons and grants, that cover prescriptions your insurance may not. Your Doctor may know, also ask your pharmacist.
