I Just Started Treatment With Hydrea This Week And Have Been Feeling Quite Emotional. Has Anyone Else Experienced This As A Side Effect?
Diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia, Fibromyalgia and Arthritis.
Just want to say I don't think I was an emotional person until I had a stroke and then anything would cause tears and it still happens I think it's a combination of the brain, diagnosis and the meds. That thought keep things in perspective for me.
I did not experience feeling more emotional however, I do believe just the idea that you have to take the medicine to keep your counts balanced could cause some emotional distress.
No, but it may be an emotional reaction to taking an oral chemotherapy.
For a blood cancer that we can neither see nor feel, it’s just there.
It can be a lot to process.
AnnariVanJaarsveld, I completely understand how you feel, as I went through it too when I started Hydrea treatment. At first, I felt very confused and weak, as if the good days were gone. But I want to share that, after about 3 weeks, I started to calm down and feel more stable. Give yourself time to adapt, and if necessary, don't hesitate to share your feelings with people around you. Hope you feel better soon! ❤️
