I have PV and get blurry vision quite frequently. I also get get bloodshot in one eye on occasion. I think it's just part of the disease, but not sure what triggers it. I try to stay hydrated as much as possible.

I had mentioned some of my increasing blurred vision in a couple of posts sometime back, but I have had quite a week to report related to eyes and vision, a common problem of those with PV. I do have that, and due to my comorbid state, it makes it difficult for a doctor to sort it all out when a patient is also 87 years old, has had cataract surgery and SLT laser for glaucoma 20 years ago or so, and also Fuch’s corneal dystrophy. With my vision getting so bad and so blurry that it is difficult to read a recipe, I made an overdue appointment with my ophthalmologist about the same time that I had my bone marrow biopsy last month, found that I needed surgery (YAG laser capsulotomy) to clear away the old cataract edges that were floating over the lens again and distorting my vision. (Sorry, I am boring you to death with the details, but you need the background to see what God did in answering prayers.)

So, last Wednesday I had the surgery, but over the weekend I started having a curtain floating over the right eye from right to left. That scared me into making an emergency appointment due to the fact that a curtain can represent a torn or detached retina, and anyone who has had one of those in the past is at high risk, and the doctor and the tech both said I was exactly right in that concern. My vision showed no improvement from the surgery, and I was so afraid I was going to be told that more surgery was neessary. Friends and family prayed hard! Then I had the most comprehensive retinal exam I have ever had, after which the doctor seemed puzzled and said he could find absolutely nothing wrong, said that he wasn’t God so couldn’t promise that something might turn up the next day. Anyway, within two days my vision was much more clear and I can read again. To everyone who has been sending me notes and hugs, I value each of you, and thank you so much for your support.

My husband has PV and so far no blurry vision. I hope you find what’s causing it. 🤗
